Responsibilities
- Agree a focused scope in structures, power, thermal design or harnessing that fits your experience and the development assignment.
- Compare components and architectures against mass, power, thermal and mounting constraints.
- Define equipment interfaces and assembly procedures, and build a ground-test configuration.
- Document test plans, measurements, failure modes and engineering trade-offs.
Basic qualifications
- Design or test experience with satellites, spacecraft, aerospace or other high-reliability hardware; research and student projects count.
- Ability to explain constraint-driven decisions in mechanical, electrical or thermal engineering.
- Ability to verify requirements through testing and document issues.
Preferred experience
- CubeSat or satellite subsystem development, assembly, integration and test.
- Environmental testing, power or thermal analysis, harness design or test fixtures.
Example focus for the first month
